Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade (PVFB), one of the only operational volunteer fire brigades in the UK, is seeking more volunteers. The charity currently operates with 10 on-call volunteer firefighters who also work full-time. The PVFB responded to 400 incidents last year as part of its efforts to support Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue. The volunteer recruitment process involves a fitness test, three written tests, and a training course.
