A man has been arrested after assaulting a peace officer during a traffic stop in Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3. The driver, Victor Carter, had several weapons-related offenses and was stopped near 500 S. Academy Blvd. when he refused to roll the window down. Carter then tried to stay in the truck by holding onto the headrest when an officer noticed he had a gun in his waistband. The gun Carter had was stolen, and a second gun was found in his car along with a large quantity of narcotics.
