The Akron Zoo is set to introduce several new species to its Legends of the Wild area on May 16. The new animals include white-faced saki, parrots Vega and Archimedes, and axolotls, which are classified as critically endangered. Other returning species include Cotton-topped tamarins, Golden lion tamars, and Cotton-top tamars. The zoo also welcomes a new antelope species in its antelope habitat.
