The development of a $138 million luxury resort in Western Australia has sparked controversy among residents. The project is set to cost 138 million Australian dollars ($96 million), and will include a 121-room hotel, 51 houses, and a cafe spanning over 19 acres. Some residents are concerned about bushfire risks, wastewater infrastructure, and impacts on native wildlife. There hasn't been a development in this area for 30 years due to the lack of roads and infrastructure. The Conservation Council of WA is also concerned about the potential impact on black cockatoos. The final decision on the development is currently pending by the WA Planning Commission.
