A newly constructed eight-story building in Sunnyside, Queens, is offering monthly rents below $600 in a low-income housing lottery at 50-25 Barnett Ave. The building is located in a sought-after neighborhood and requires a low income qualifier to apply. To qualify, individuals earn only 30% of the area median, or between $22,492 and $38,880 for two households, and six two-bedroom units are available. The top rent in the category is $925. However, after the application deadline, candidates will be selected for review through a lottery process. The largest number of apartments (47) are set aside for those earning 80% or 80%. Tenants can also be moved up to $160,720 and still qualify.
