'Always put others first': IDF reservist who died while on leave saves four with organ transplants

Staff Sgt. Effi Ben-Yakar, a 32-year-old IDF reservist who died while on leave during his leave, saved four lives through organ transplants. Ben-yakar served in the IDF's Yahalom unit and was called up at the outbreak of the war when he suffered a cardiac event and died at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. Despite the efforts of the hospital’s medical teams, he was pronounced dead two weeks later. Following his death, the National Transplant Center announced that Ben- Yakar was an ADI card holder and wished for his organs to be donated to those in need. His organs were successfully transplanted into four people, including those of a 38, 38, 71, and a 40, and 64, respectively. His family praised him for his dedication to always put others first.
