NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is scheduled to meet with President Trump in Washington next week as he considers pulling the U.S. out of the alliance over the Iran war. This comes amid concerns over NATO member countries' reluctance to aid the US in policing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane that Iran has shut down since the start of the Iran-Iraq war. The president has been critical of NATO, but made his strongest rebuke against the international alliance in a recent interview with The Telegraph.
