The Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act, which includes provisions to the Professional Boxing Safety Act of 1996, passed through the House of Representatives with a vote of 30-4. The bill aims to create Unified Boxing Organizations (UBOs), an alternative to sanctioning bodies currently controlling boxing championships. These UBOs would allow them to set their own rankings and crown their own champions. Additionally, the bill would establish minimum purse amounts, with fighters guaranteed at least $150 per scheduled round and a national minimum of $25,000 for health coverage for injuries sustained during a fight. The legislation is supported by the owners of UFC and WWE.
