McDonald's customers fondly remembered McDonaldland cookies, a nostalgic sweet treat from the 1970s and 1980s, were discontinued in 2003 due to concerns about childhood obesity and aging marketing gimmicks. The company replaced the cookies in Happy Meals with apple slices. Despite no known plans to revive the cookies, modern marketing suggests it may be possible. However, McDonald's still sells cookies, but they are not similar to the taste and texture of the nostalgic cookies sold at a discount grocery store.
