Suspect Accused of Killing Wife and Mother-In-Law in Walnut Creek Now Charged In LA Murder

Howard Wang, the man accused of murdering his wife and mother-in-law in 2025, has been linked to a 2024 murder in Los Angeles. Wang, along with 33-year-old Demarques James Pearl of Los Angeles, is accused of conspiring to murder 41-year old Chengli Li, who was romantically involved with Wang's girlfriend. The Contra Costa County District Attorney's office alleges that Wang and Pearl plotted the murder of Li before traveling together from the Bay Area to Los Angeles on June 7, 2024. The third killing will be prosecuted alongside the murders of Guo and Cheng.
