City of Colorado Springs is preparing for its annual street paving season, with the highest priority being the repaving of Circle Drive, a major thoroughfare that stretches seven miles. The work began Sunday near the south end of the street, where crews are using machines to remove old pavement and replace it with new asphalt. The city will also pave the northern three miles and southern three miles of Circle, while the remaining mile is in good condition and doesn't require repaving. This marks the 11th year of the city's expanded paving program, funded by a voter-approved sales tax increase in 2015 and since extended by voters.
