The Marine Mammal Center has advised that people should keep a 100-yard distance from whales. Since 2016, Gray whales have lost over 50% of their overall population. Currently, there are six gray whales on the bay. The center's advice is to watch for spouts or blow, which are typically indicative of gray whale presence.
