Duke, the No. 1-seeded Blue Devils, won their NCAA Tournament opener 71-65 against No. 16 Siena, becoming the eighth No.1 seed to beat a No.16 by six or fewer points. This was a significant development for the team, which had previously trailed by 11 at half. The victory was seen as a warning ahead of their upcoming game against No.-9 TCU.
