Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller was projected to win the Democratic primary for Rep. Robin Kelly's seat, defeating former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. The primary was held in the state's 2nd Congressional District, a seat in the Chicago area that hasn't been won by a Democrat in decades. The victory was largely due to support from groups associated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
