The TSA PreCheck Touchless IDs have been used to bypass long airport security lines due to the partial government shutdown, which has resulted in significant staffing shortages and delays. The new system uses facial-comparison technology to verify passengers' identities and allows them to use dedicated lanes to bypass security. However, it is only available at select airports and to customers of certain airlines. To be eligible, flyers must have an active airline profile with a participating airline, be enrolled in the TSA Pre-Check program with a Known Traveler Number, and have a valid passport number uploaded to their profile.
