The man who died after shooting himself while handcuffed in the back of a San Antonio Police cruiser has been identified as 35-year-old Christopher Montalbo. The incident occurred when officers attempted to stop a vehicle with mismatched license plates and placed him in the vehicle. Police found him with a gunshot wound to the head and he was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear whether proper search procedures were followed before he was placed in the patrol car.
