Nicholas J. Gillespie, a 43-year-old Lake Villa man, has been arrested on charges of possessing child sex abuse material via the internet. The arrest followed a two-month investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake county State’�s Attorney’'s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Gillespie allegedly downloaded 80 gigabytes of material suspected to contain child sexabuse materials. He has been charged with five counts of possession of the illegal material. Additional charges may be forthcoming. The Lake County sheriff's Office has also completed its second round of compliance checks at establishments that sell tobacco products. The current number for non-emergency police calls will be changed to (847) 546-2127 as of April 1.
