Milford Water Gets $1M To Tackle PFAS, Improve Drinking Water System

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has awarded $1 million to the Milford Water Department to study alternative PFAS removal processes for a new water treatment plant. The funding is part of a $10.3 total across the state. The projects were selected by the state's Healey-Driscoll Administration and are intended to help treat and remove contaminants such as PFAS and manganese. These chemicals are widely used in consumer products, industrial processes, and in certain firefighting foams.
