Sugarcreek Ambulance Service waits for DHS funding to pick up new truck

Sugarcreek Township Ambulance Service in Armstrong County is waiting for Department of Homeland Security funding to purchase a new ambulance, as their current truck is 20 years old and has approximately 250,000 miles on it. The service has one truck and is dependent on help from further away due to the breakdown of the truck. The interim director, Nathaniel Stoughton, has sought grant funding years ago from the federal government. However, until DHS reopens, they cannot pick up the new ambulance. U.S. Sen. John Fetterman helped them access the DHS portal to show proof of funding to the manufacturer.
