British photographer, Lex Adair, witnessed a suspected meteorite flying through the sky over his home in West Rainton, County Durham, at around 00:30 BST. The incident was reported by Roy Alexander, director of learning at Battlesteads Dark Sky Discovery Observatory, who believes it was a large meteorite. He believes the meteorite was tracked from near Cardiff to Hull and Grimsby before potentially landing in the North Sea.
