Spanberger hits redistricting campaign trail, former governor strikes back

Gov. Abigail Spanberger is campaigning ahead of Virginia's redistricting referendum, urging Virginians to vote "yes" to a temporary constitutional amendment that would give Democrats power to redraw a new congressional map that includes ten seats that favor Democrats and only one that does not favor Republicans. However, former Republican governor and U.S. Senator George Allen, part of an organization No Gerrymandering Virginia, is urging voters to vote against the amendment, arguing that the current congressional map is fair and that the new map will be in place for six years.
