Ibraheem Yazeed, the man accused of murdering 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard, has been convicted of lesser charges after a murder trial in Macon County, Ala. The original indictment accused Yazeed of capital murder during a kidnapping and during a robbery. He had pleaded not guilty to all charges in connection with Blancheard's death in 2019. The verdict reflects lesser charges than the original indictment and is expected to be sentenced on May 7. Prosecutors plan to seek the maximum sentence allowed by law, and Blanche's mother, Angela Harris, has dedicated herself to helping families find missing loved ones.
