Calendar: Upcoming events in Ascension Parish

Ascension Parish Day at the Capitol will be held on April 22 at Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge. The annual car show in Donaldsonville, organised by the parish assessor's office, will benefit a local food pantry. Other events include a candlelight vigil in honor of victims of violent crime and their families at 6 p.m. April 21 in Gonzales. The grand opening of the new St. Amant library and community center will be April 25. The festival of Festival de la Prairie will also be held April 24-26 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Louisiana. The Junoeteenth Music Festival is set to be held June 20 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.
