Columbia University's recent report on former OB/GYN Robert Hadden's sexual abuse of patients has confirmed that the university failed to adequately address these allegations. The report did not include events that occurred after Hadden stopped seeing patients in 2012. The focus of the investigation should be on who enabled Hadden to continue practicing and who coordinated the cover-up after he was exposed. The university has already paid over $1 billion to over 1,000 survivors and faces a financial catastrophe. New York Attorney General Letitia James' investigation into Columbia's handling of allegations should be completed. The public deserves a full accounting of Hadden, which requires widening the scope to individuals with significant institutional ties.
