The Canadian passport and travel document fees have increased, marking the first increase in over a decade. The new fees will begin on March 31, 2026, with applications for new passports arriving on the same day as March 31. The increase reflects inflation and service delivery costs, and will be adjusted annually according to the Service Fees Act. For Canadians living in Canada, a 10-year adult passport (age 16 and up) will increase from $160 to $163.50, while a 5-year passport increases from $120 to $122.50. Other documents such as child passports, certificates of identity, and adult refugee travel documents also see increases. The current wait time for a Canadian passport renewal can take up to 20 business days to process, and possibly up to $100.
