Therapist and Mental Health Therapist, Lisa Kohn, experienced Postpartum Depression and Anxiety after having her first baby, despite having degrees in Human Development and Marriage and Family Therapy, and having a supportive husband, loving parents, close friends and a stable home. Despite her extensive knowledge of postpartum depression and anxiety, Kohn found the signs of this disorder hidden in subtle ways that often don't show up as dramatic warning signs. The combination of sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, and increased sleep deprivation created the perfect conditions for postpartums depression and an inability to bond with a child. Kohn was diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety after reading research and applying only the right child's needs only once possible.
