Mazda Takes You Behind the Scenes as One of Its Legendary Le Mans Racers Gets Rebuilt

Mazda's 787B race car won the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans, the first Japanese company to do so. The race cars are filled with unique parts, making them difficult to service. Mazda enlisted Florida-based specialist Flis Performance to rebuild the car, which celebrates its 35th anniversary with the company's heritage collection. The parts used in the reconstruction are largely one-off pieces created specifically for the race. The 787's four-rotor engines were designed for power and efficiency, but also contributed to the engine's violent soundtracks. The company has released a short documentary showing the process behind-the-scenes process.
