Chinese competitor, ByteDance, is planning to release its upcoming Project Swan VR Headset later this year. The headset, announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, features a micro OLED display with 40 pixels per degree of resolution density, similar to what Apple Vision Pro and Samsung Galaxy XR have. It is also powered by dual-chip custom processors that ByteDanced claims are twice as powerful as Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 on the Meta's Quest 3 and 3S headsets and a stepped-up version on Samsung's Galaxy Xr. The price of Project Swan and its software are still unknown. This indicates that other companies are beginning to develop high-end VR/AR headsets.
