Pilots have begun initial testing of Joby Aviation's first production model electric air taxi, a six-rotor electric aircraft. The test flights are a precursor to evaluations by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration later this year. The company has been working with regulators for several years to approve the aircraft's designs, plans, and parts used to build the aircraft. It aims to start flying later this month in Dubai, where two of the four landing sites are already under construction.
