The California weather is set to break records for the last days of Winter, with temperatures expected to be above average for March. High pressure over the west will strengthen on Monday, leading to temperatures soaring above the normal for March, with highs reaching 78 in Merced and Madera, 79 in Fresno, and 80 in Hanford, Visalia, and Porterville. Fresno has only reached 90 or 91 in March only four times since records began in 1881. High temperatures are expected to reach the low 90's from Tuesday (St. Patrick's Day) until Saturday, with a chance of surpassing the hottest temperature Fresno has ever recorded in March.
