Rockets have been fired from Lebanon into northern Israel, causing air-raid sirens in several towns. The Israeli military has issued a warning to residents of southern Lebanon to move north of the Zahrani river, about 40 kilometres from the border. The military's operations are aimed at countering activities by the Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah militia.
