Newly discovered malware, Storm, can steal passwords, cryptocurrency, and more from a Windows computer even without strict security measures being enabled. Unlike other infostealers, Storm can take encrypted information from the browser and decrypt it on a remote server. This is unlike other tools that steal sensitive personal information and store it away for an attacker. Unlike traditional infostealingers who access local databases, Storm uses session cookies to bypass modern security measures. Storm can only be deployed against Windows systems, but this could spread quickly. The malware is also being sold as a subscription service, with a monthly version costing $300 and a monthly subscription costing $1,800 a month for 100 operators.
