Small business owners across the Houston area are scrambling to find new places to operate after the sudden closure of all Painted Tree locations. The company, which allows independent vendors to rent space and sell items such as gifts, clothing, art, and home décor, had been operating in over 60 locations across the country since 2015. The closures were attributed to rising costs, shifting market conditions, and changes in consumer shopping behavior. Hundreds of vendors are being forced to remove their inventory by April 24.
