The Lubbock Health Department’s Prevention Resource Center and Voice of Hope hosted a trauma care education session. The session covered topics such as the differences between big and little traumas, how trauma can affect someone physically and emotionally, and the four types of responses most people experience in a traumatic situation. Izzy Wheeler, lead counselor at V. of Hope, said understanding this definition of trauma is crucial in helping others cope with it. She also emphasized that trauma is not exclusive to one individual or one group; it can be anyone.
