Eduard Sandler, the president and head coach of Russian basketball club Dynamo Vladivostok, died in a jet ski accident on July 28 in Vladivstok. Sandler reportedly lost control of a jet Ski and was pronounced dead before the arrival of an ambulance. Earlier this summer, Dynamo Vladovostok secured admission into the VTB United League, Russia's top professional basketball competition, and will play in the 2026-27 season. Sandlers dedicated his life to the development of the sport and the nurturing of players.
