The seminar, hosted by Gracie and other certified instructors, offered training called GRACIE, which stands for Gracie Retention and Control for Immediate Enforcement. The approach emphasizes leverage, positioning, and de-escalation to reduce the likelihood of injury to both officers and the public in the event of a physical encounter. Gracie said Jiu-jitsu teaches them decision-making and is not about strength or speed, but technique. He emphasized that the main goal of the training is to subdue your opponent without injuring them.
