Jiu-Jitsu legend, UFC Hall of Famer offers specialized training to Lenexa police, other agencies

UFC Hall of Famer Hoyce Gracie, a pioneer of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and UFC Hall of Famister Royce, has offered specialized training to Lenexa police, other agencies in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. The seminar, hosted by Gracie and other certified instructors, offered training called GRACIE, which stands for Gracie Retention and Control for Immediate Enforcement. The approach emphasizes leverage, positioning, and de-escalation to reduce the likelihood of injury to both officers and the public in the event of a physical encounter. Gracie said Jiu-jitsu teaches them decision-making and is not about strength or speed, but technique. He emphasized that the main goal of the training is to subdue your opponent without injuring them.
