FPL and FCC miss proposal deadline for new incinerator in Miami-Dade amid pushback

The deadline for a joint proposal from Florida Power & Light and FCC Environmental Services to build an incinerator in Miami-Dade County has been missed. The new incinerator will replace the burned down in 2023. The deadline was supposed to allow county commissioners to discuss a new proposed location and a cost plan. However, many residents and local leaders have opposed these proposals, citing their potential impact on public health and the Everglades.
