Resident scammed out of $20,000

A resident reported that he was scammed out of approximately $20,000 by an online scam. The scam involved a call from what appeared to be Microsoft claiming that someone had stolen his identity and used it to purchase child pornography. The bank manager attempted to speak with the person on the phone, but the caller disconnected. On March 11, police stopped a driver for a traffic violation and found a firearm, a second firearm, and loaded extended magazines on the driver. The 23-year-old Cleveland resident was charged with carrying concealed weapons, expired registration, weaving, and limitations on conduct by individuals (cannada). On March 15, police arrested a 31-year old Bay Village resident for OVI and driving in marked lanes.
