The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) has hosted its second annual festival in Manhattan, its first as a juried festival. The REEL WILD Film Festival includes films that showcase nature's beauty and highlight the urgency of conserving it. These films span the globe, from some of the most remote ecosystems on Earth to a cluster of beehives in the Bronx. The festival also highlights the importance of conservation in specific landscapes and seascapes that are relevant to life in New York. Calvelli, executive vice president of public affairs at WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), and co-founder of the REEL Wild Film Festival, urges attendees to be inspired by the natural world and consider steps to protect it.
