A weather system moving through the region will bring spotty showers across the Lubbock area, with most expected to remain south and west of the city. The system's position keeps the southern poriton of the region most favorable for rainfall, but some showers may extend near the etxas new mexico state line and central Texas. Despite this, temperatures will remain below normal throughout the day. The weather system will clear out Friday night into Saturday, with temperatures expected to recover into the low 60s to mid 70s under mostly sunny conditions.
