A teen, Jaylyn Kosmyna, has been arrested for allegedly causing $35,000 in damages to a motorcycle and a home in Lake County before fleeing police. On April 28, 2026, an officer responded to reports of a reckless driver in a silver Infiniti sedan near Nelson Park Drive and observed the vehicle performing burnouts in an apartment complex parking lot. The officer identified Kosmyana through her rolled-down window and instructed her to stop the vehicle, but she fled the area towards U.S. Highway 27. The police attempted to catch up to the vehicle and stopped their vehicle just east of the intersection, waiting for additional units due to the community’s single entry and exit point. The estimated damages of the crash were $35K. Kosmyan was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and eluding an officer. She admitted to consuming two BeatBox alcoholic beverages and one BuzzBall alcoholic beverage before the incident.
