Apollo Sports Capital and Tom Dundon make landmark $225 million investment in pickleball

Pickleball Inc., the parent company of Major League Pickleball and the PPA Tour, has raised a record $225 million in new investment from Apollo Global Management's sports fund, Apollo Sports Capital, and Dundon Capital Partners, owned by billionaire Tom Dundon, a billionaire who owns the Portland Trail Blazers NBA team and the Carolina Hurricanes NHL team. The fresh funds bring the total investment to $315 million, valuing the company at $750 million. The investment includes rolling up several pickleball assets under the Picklebal Inc. umbrella, creating what the company calls the largest picklebal ecosystem to date. The new capital will be used to further integrate the pickle ball business at all levels of play and create a streamlined picklecl ecosystem.
