Queens restaurateur erects massive $400K shrine for saint he says saved him from fatal plane crash

Queensian restaurateur, Giuseppe "Joe" Oppedisano, has erected a $400K shrine to the Italian saint Padre Pio he claims saved him from a fatal plane crash in 2020 that left him with broken bones, a broken back, and a broken tongue. The shrine, which includes smaller statues of saints such as the Mother Mary and Saint Anthony, is located around the corner from OppedISano's Little Neck restaurant, Il Bacco. The non-profit, which crowdsourced over $400,000 to build the shrine, led by Tina Marie, led the crowd to build this project. The National Transportation Safety Board listed the cause of the accident as the poor pilot as the cause.
