The mission to enhance outdoor recreation

The South Dakota Parks & Wildlife Foundation, founded four decades ago, aims to enhance outdoor recreation across the state. The foundation has been instrumental in securing private donations for projects such as an overlook deck at Newton Hills State Park. The $10-million campaign aims to complete 30 projects in 19 parks, including amphitheaters, accessibility projects, playgrounds and picnic shelters. The nonprofit has been working for 40 years and has raised $3-million for the expansion of the Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls.
