Arkansas officials are preparing to implement new work requirements for some Medicaid recipients through the ARHOME program. The requirements, which could impact thousands of Arkansans enrolled in the state’s Medicaid expansion program, will begin a "soft launch" phase on July 1, 2015, with full enforcement set to begin January 1, 2027. Those aged 19 to 64 will need to demonstrate they are working, attending school, or participating in job training. Independent Medicare Insurance Agent Dustin Etheredge expressed concern that some recipients could lose coverage due to missed important notices. The state plans to host town halls across the state to educate recipients before the requirements officially take effect.
