Warner Bros. Discovery has set a date for a shareholder vote on the $111 billion Paramount Skydance merger. The special meeting will take place on April 23, 2026. The deal would give Paramount SkyDance, parent of CBS, CBS News, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+ BET, Nickelodeon and more control over Warner Bros.BD's portfolio. The WBD board has unanimously recommended shareholders vote for the Paramount merger, which is expected to pass. The merger has been unanimously approved by the boards of both companies and is expected close in the third quarter of 2026, pending regulatory clearance from the U.S. Justice Department. If Paramount's takeover has not closed by Sept. 30, 2025, it will add another roughly $650 million to the deal's price tag.
