Jeneca Montoya, the assistant coach for the girls' team at Mayfield High School, was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in July last year. The cancer had spread to her liver and rib. Despite undergoing 6 rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, Montoya was able to return to the team in time for the start of the season. The Mayfield girls basketball team has raised over $50,000 for cancer patients and is currently undergoing radiation treatment.
