Florida State advanced to the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament after a 95-89 victory over California. Robert McCray V. scored 30 points and eight assists, helping Florida State secure their place in the next round. Lajae Jones and Chauncey Wiggins also contributed significantly. Cal's Dai Dai Ames scored 27 points, while Chris Bell, Justin Pippen, John Camden, and Lee Dort contributed seven points and 18 rebounds for the team. The Seminoles have won 10 of their last 12 games under first-year coach Luke Loucks.
