Columbia Fire and Rescue has temporarily suspended sending crews to Magnolia Health due to the identification of Candida auris (C. auris), a type of yeast that can cause severe illness and spread easily among very sick patients. The agency will implement a temporary modification to response protocols for the facility, focusing on "fire-related emergencies only" rather than medical-only calls.
