Polish filmmaker Paweł Pawlikowski has returned to feature filmmaking with the film Fatherland, which debuts at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, which stars Hanns Zischler and Sandra Hüller, is about the relationship between Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika, who return home after a 16-year exile from the US. The director, who co-wrote the screenplay with Hendrik Handloegten and co-edited the project, re-shoots the film with cinematographer Łukasz Żal. The Match Factory is handling international sales on Fatherland.
